The Dubai Astronomy Group aims to promote the study of astronomy and related fields.

Membership is open to anyone having an interest in astronomy or related subjects (Standard Membership is totaly free).
Membership includes benefits, such as internet access to our library of astronomy, lectures, Stargazing,  and use of equipment including telescopes, cameras, and other equipment.

Annular Solar Eclipse 7th Feb 2008 - Wednesday, January 16, 2008
The first solar eclipse of 2008 occurs at the Moon's ascending node in Capricornus. An annular eclipse will be visible from a wide track, that traverses Antarctica and southern regions of the Pacific Ocean. A partial eclipse will be seen within the much larger path of the Moon's penumbral shadow, which includes the southeastern third of Australia, all of New Zealand and most of Antarctica , this eclipse will not be visible from UAE or M.E.  
Lunar Eclipse on 20 Feb - Wednesday, January 16, 2008

On  August 28th there will be total Lunar eclipse, it will be visible from Australia, Japan, parts of Asia and most of the Americas, but not from Africa, Europe or Middle East. Pacific observers are favored, The event begins 54 minutes past midnight PDT (0754 UT) on August 28th when the Moon enters Earth's shadow
