Stars with Arabic-Origin Names
Posted: 12 Nov 05 1:43 PM

Hello,

Below I have tried to mention several prominent stars which have names of Arabic origin. I personally feel that over the years, unfortunately, the Islamic contribution to the sciences, mathematics, economics, etc. - including astronomy - has tended to be under-represented in general literature around the world.

Enjoy!:

Hi eveyone,

There are many arabic names in english ( latin ) as most of the stars and constellation name came from muslim schoolers as they have create one of best anciant sky charts, specialy Razi Al Sofi, he have charted many constellation he had very good eye as evedance of that he have pointed out M31 Andromeda Galaxy in Constellation of Andormeda, which is fussy and difficlut object to visulize with naked eye, just refer to our arabic section you will find very good article about names and there latine translations.

English: Beetlegeuse

Arabic: Ibet al jauza

any there are many , specialy the northen sky constellations and stars.
